Napolitano promises long-term help. (AUDIO)

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano assures people in Joplin the federal governemnt will be committed to the city’s recovery for months. She toured the tornado damage in Joplin today. “We know that when such a devastating storm occurs, you don’t just imemdiately turn around and go back to business as normal,” she said in an afternoon news conference with Governor Nixon.

Napolitano says the tornado damage in Joplin is the worst she’s ever seen…..in a spring tornado season that has produced extensive damage in many areas.
