The state treasurer’s office has returned $1.4 million to a single employer through the unclaimed property program. The money is part of more than 260 individual securities accounts handled by the company, which has not been identified. It’s the second biggest return of unclaimed property during the time the state has handled unclaimed bank accounts and the contents of safe deposit boxes that have been inactive for several years.
