Royals rookie first baseman Eric Hosmer lined the first pitch he saw into right field, with the bases loaded and two outs, for his first career walk off hit as the Royals beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 in 11 innings.

Chris Getz started the 11th inning with a bunt single and Brayan Pena singled through the hole into left. Alcides Escobar used a sacrifice bunt to move the runners over and Alex Gordon was intentionally walked to fill first base.

Melky Cabrera got robbed when Toronto’s 3B Mike McCoy dove to his left to snatched a line drive. However, Hosmer delivered on the next pitch.  Eric Hosmer on his game winning hit

The game started as a pitcher’s duel. Royals starter Felipe Paulino, making just his second start for the Royals, took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He ended up going 6 2/3 innings, allowing just three hits and two runs, with only one being earned.

Toronto’s Brandon Morrow kept Kansas City at bay just two hits in six innings. The only run he allowed was unearned
