Kyle McClellan gave up a career high seven runs including his first grand slam allowed in a 7-3 loss to San Francisco on Memorial Day.
Outfielder Andres Torres hit the grand slam apart of a five-run, fourth inning that ended McClellan’s shortest outing of the season.
Albert Pujols hit a home run in the bottom of the 8th inning, marking the fifth season in a row that he has homered on May 30th and Matt Holliday was back in the starting lineup for the first time in a week since missing time with a tight leg muscle.
Allen Craig, is hitting a National League-best 15-for-33 (.345) since May 19, hitting safely in nine of his last 11 games. Ryan Theriot extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a double in the third inning. The 13-game run ties Theriot for the longest active streak in the NL with San Francisco catcher Buster Posey, who is now out for the year with torn ankle ligaments.
