The Environmental Protection Agency says it’s almost done removing lead-contaminated soil from three St. Francois County schools and replacing it with clean dirt. Eleven more schools will be checked to see if soil contamination merits similar replacement efforts.

The EPA says its oil assessors also are sampling dirt in eleven public parks in the county.
