The deal looks better than it did two weeks ago for Joplin resident Byron Lang, who had been charged with murdering a two year old boy in 2008. He’s decided to take a plea bargain that requires him to do 15 years in prison. Lang and his girlfriend had been caring for the boy, who died from a skull fracture and a brain bleed. His body also showed blunt force trauma to his chest and stomach.
