The last five days of this year’s legislative session begin in a matter of hours with some big issues unresolved and the House and Senate split on the outcomes.

Tax credit overhaul is one of the issues, and its complicated by efforts to give millions of dollars in tax credits to develop the so-called China Hub at Lambert St. Louis Airport — making Lambert a major point for commerce from China. Drug testing for welfare recipients, expansion of charter schools, the possible elimination of the Senior Rx program that saves prescription costs for the elderly and disabled — are all left, as are issues on abortion, English-language-only drivers licenses, and concealed weapons.

The session ends at 6 p.m. Friday night.
