Last week’s Mississippi River flood crests that were problems for southeast Missouri are quickly becoming major problems for Memphis, Tenn.

Along the way it appears the southeast Missouri community of Caruthersville has escaped serious damage. River levels are dropping all along our southeast border. The Mississippi came within inches of topping the levee at Caruthersville before starting to ease. The city curfew has been cancelled. National Guard members are pulling out.
