We have elk in Missouri for the first time in more than a century. The Conservation Department says 34 of the animals have arrived from their quarantine area in Kentucky late last week. They’ll be kept in a holding area for a couple of weeks before they’re released into the Peck Ranch Conservation area in Reynolds, Shannon, and Carter Counties.
