A Missouri Army reservist who defrauded the Army out of more than $30,000 cannot leave his home for six months, must serve five years of probation, do 100 hours of community service … and has to pay back $32,000 dollars to the Army. Part of Robert Briggs’ plea deal also required him to resign from the army with an Other-than-honorable discharge.

Briggs was living in Bridgeton when he was called to active duty. He established a fake address in California and billed the army for travel, furniture and for rent. While stationed in Texas he rented an apartment for one-thousand dollars a month but created a fake leasing company in his wife’s maiden name and submitted repayment vouchers for three times that amount.
