Former Missouri Southern star heading to Germany pro league

April 27, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Skyler Bowlin, one of the top men’s basketball players in Missouri Southern history, signed a professional contract to play overseas for the Red Kangaroos in Augsburg, Germany.

The Red Kangaroos play in the Pro B league, the third highest level of ball in Germany. Bowlin will join a couple of other Missourians in this same league. Alex Moosman and Sanijay Watts from Central Missouri play in Germany as well.

According to the Joplin Globe, Bowlin will get a monthly salary, which isn’t the greatest, but he also gets flights back home paid by the team, health insurance, free German lessons, a gym membership and he’ll share a car and four bedroom apartment with utilities paid with an American roommate.
