McDonald County, in the far southwest corner of Missouri, is facing its worst flooding in many years from the Elk River. Emergency shelters have been set up at the Methodist Church in Noel and at the fire station. The national Weather Service thinks the river will crest 11 feet above flood stage, about two feet below the record crest of 1941.
