Heavy rains in southern and southeast Missouri are straining levees and are causing some evacuations. Some parts of the town of Ellington, in Iron County, have been evacuated because of  an overflowing creek.

Some people in Poplar Bluff have moved out as the Black River keeps rising and the levee has been overtopped in several places.

Water is reported rising rapidly at Bennett Springs State Park, near Lebanon, in southwest Missouri’s Laclede County.

Numerous roads are flooded.
