The Cardinals start a series at Houston, with a half game ahead of Cincinnati in the Central following the Cards 3-0 win Sunday night. The Astros have the fewest wins in the National League with eight, but have a tough pitcher facing them Tuesday night.

So far the offseason acquisition of Lance Berkman has paid off. He’s second on the team with 15 RBIs behind Albert Pujols’ 17, as he returns to Houston where he spent 11.5 seasons, before being traded to the Yankees. Berkman is also hitting .377 with six home runs.

Jaime Garcia starts tonight. He’ll face Bud Norris, who has owned St. Louis in his career. Norris is 5-1 with a 2.27 ERA in six career starts.
