The wind was blowing out in Texas last night, and the baseballs would follow as the Rangers and the Royals combine to hit 6 home runs, but in the end, Texas would win the slug fest 11-6.

Early on, it looked like Texas would cruise to an easy win as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead.  One of those runs would come from a solo home run off the bat of former Mizzou Tiger Ian Kinsler.

But in the 4th, the Royals would put 5 runs on the board, 3 with one swing of Brayan Pena’s bat.  After that, the Royals would not score again until the 8th

A rough start for Jeff Francis who would go 4 innings, but give up 6 runs on 9 hits.

Game two of the series will be tonight as Kyle Davies will start for the Royals against the Rangers Alexi Ogando.

Game time is 7:10.
