Royals and Rangers Slugfest in Texas

April 23, 2011 By Missourinet Sports

The wind was blowing out in Texas last night, and the baseballs would follow as the Rangers and the Royals combine to hit 6 home runs, but in the end, Texas would win the slug fest 11-6.

Early on, it looked like Texas would cruise to an easy win as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead.  One of those runs would come from a solo home run off the bat of former Mizzou Tiger Ian Kinsler.

But in the 4th, the Royals would put 5 runs on the board, 3 with one swing of Brayan Pena’s bat.  After that, the Royals would not score again until the 8th.

A rough start for Jeff Francis who would go 4 innings, but give up 6 runs on 9 hits.

Game two of the series will be tonight as Kyle Davies will start for the Royals against the Rangers Alexi Ogando.

Game time is 7:10.
