A Florida-based debt settlement company will stop operating in Missouri and will refund fees paid by Missourians.
The Attorney General’s office had accused Vortex Debt Group of deceptive and unfair practices. It said the company took money from consumers by promising to reduce their debts and never delivered on the promises. About 300 Missourians had signed up for services from Vortex Debt Group. They’ll be getting letters soon outlining how they can claim their refunds.
