The No. 20 Central Missouri golf squad shot the only three rounds under 300 on the week, and cruised to the MIAA Tournament Championship crown by 29 shots over the closest competition at the par-72 Tiffany Greens Golf Club, with an 889 (+25).

Central Missouri led from start to finish in the windy conditions, tallying scores of 295, 298 and 296 during the three-round championship, and in the process won its eighth consecutive MIAA event, second straight MIAA Tournament title, and third regular season crown in a row.

Individually, senior Matt Miller (Eldon, Mo.) coasted to the individual title by eight shots, firing 68, 74, 71 (213, -3) over the three rounds. Junior Jared King (Lawson, Mo.) took fourth after shooting a 222 (+6), and Ryne Kloeppel (Kansas City, Mo.) rounded out the top 10 finishers with a 227 (+11) to take eighth.

The next closest team was Washburn with a 918 (+54) to take second, while Fort Hays State was third (931) and Missouri Southern was fourth (934).

Miller was named the MIAA Player of the Year after the event, totaling 28 points over the season, while senior Laurence Noott (22.5), Kloeppel (21), and King (16.25) were named to the All-MIAA team. In addition, head coach Tim Poe was named MIAA Coach of the Year.

Next up, the Mules will head to the NCAA Tournament as the automatic bid from the MIAA. The NCAA-II Midwest/South Central Super Regional will take place May 2-4 at Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Kentucky.
