Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel said they did a lot of mix and matching with personnel in this year’s Black and Gold scrimmage. Pinkel wanted to get a fair evaluation of what he has coming in this fall. That, combined with breezy conditions, made for a less than explosive spring game.

Missouri fans have been used to seeing Blaine Gabbert and Chase Daniel pick apart young defenders, but this game lacked a lot of the big plays with James Franklin and Tyler Gabbert running the offense.

Gabbert admitted this wasn’t his best performance of the spring and Franklin said with the wind, the focus was on a lot of screen plays and running plays.
