NWMO Convicted child pornographer gets sentence cut

April 15, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

A convicted child pornographer from Platte County has won a partial victory from a state appeals court. The court has cut David Liberty’s sentence from 36 years to 15. He got 12 years for promoting child pornography and three years each on eight charges of possessing child pornography.

The appeals court says the eight charges should have been treated as one, meaning his sentence should have been three years. The judges have let stand his 12 years for promoting child porn.
