Relief pitcher Bryan Augenstein will be placed on the disabled list for sure after suffering a right groin strain and lefty Brian Tallet could be next after injuring his hand. Both injuries came in Tuesday’s loss at Arizona.

Augenstein pitched the sixth inning, then batted for himself and got his first major league hit. Then with one out in the seventh, after throwing a strike to Stephen Drew, he fell to the ground.

Drew as involved in the other injury as well. Tallet was pitching in the fifth when he went to cover first base and got tangled with Drew after receiving a throw from Albert Pujols. He had his wrist on his non throwing hand get rolled up under him. The Cardinals will wait a few days before determining if the DL is needed.
