Southwest Baptist University announced today the hiring of Drake women’s basketball assistant coach Todd Voss.  
 
“I’m very excited to announce that Coach Todd Voss will join the SBU Bearcats as head coach of our women’s basketball team. Coach Voss has an outstanding resume and exceeds every single category we had in mind. He is an experienced, successful coach who knows how to recruit. Coach Voss is organized, detailed, and analytical. He comes to SBU very highly recommended from well respected people in women’s basketball. Coach Voss will be a perfect fit for the SBU community,” said SBU Director of Athletics, Mike Pitts, “We look for great things, for many seasons to come from Coach Todd Voss.”
 
Todd Voss will be entering his 19th year as a basketball coach.  He was born in Maryville, Missouri and calls Schleswig, Iowa his hometown. He has been married for 19 years to his college sweetheart Amy.  Todd and Amy also have a 13 year-old daughter, Karlee Sue.  “I am absolutely thrilled and honored to join Southwest Baptist University as the head women’s basketball coach.  After being on campus just a few times it’s easy to see that SBU is a special place.  Southwest Baptist has a rich tradition of basketball success.  I look forward to building a program that pursues excellence on the court, in the classroom & in life,” Voss said about joining the school.  
 
“I am very excited SBU is able to hire a coach that has had the experience Todd has had.  Todd has been a head coach at the high school level, a head coach at the collegiate level, and an assistant coach at the Division 1 level. His experience will be a great benefit to the SBU program.
 
Voss completed his fifth year as an assistant coach at Drake this past season where he was involved in player development, tutoring post players, game preparation, and recruiting. “Coach Voss is a rising star in the coaching profession and Southwest Baptist University hit a homerun when they hired him,” said Drake women’s basketball head coach, Amy Stephens, “He brings strong leadership and ethics, a wealth of coaching knowledge, a sincere care for young women and a winning attitude. All are ingredients for a successful program.  His character and his values put him a cut above most of the field.”
