This year’s proposals to reduce the size of the Missouri House of Representatives appear to have no more possibilities than previous proposals have had.

A House committee has rejected a bill to cut the house from 163 members to 103. The senate has approved its version of the bill but that bill has to clear the House.  Supporters of this year’s effort say the new-size house would not be in place for another decade, after the next census.  No changes are proposed for the 34-member state senate.
