Reports that Missouri to hire Miami’s Haith

Multiple media sources are reporting that Missouri will hire Miami’s Frank Haith as its replacement for Mike Anderson as the head men’s basketball coach.

Any coaching hire would need to be approved by the University’s Board of Curators and they have called a special meeting for Monday night at 7:30.

Miami went 21-15 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NIT before losing to Alabama. Along their postseason run, they knocked Missouri State out of the NIT with an 81-72 win over the Bears.

Who is Frank Haith? In seven seasons at Miami, Haith has led the Hurricanes to five postseason appearances and already has more postseason wins than any other coach in Miami men’s basketball history. The Hurricanes advanced past the first round of postseason play in each of their last four trips to the postseason.

Haith is also familiar with the Big 12. Prior to taking the Miami job, he was an assistant at Texas under Rick Barnes for three seasons. Haith has also assisted at Wake Forest, Texas A & M and UNC Wilmington.
