McCaskill wants Obama, Congress to go without pay if shut-down happens

March 31, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

Senator McCaskill has suggested Congress and the President not be paid if the federal government shuts down.

McCaskill is one of 18 senators who’ve written a letter to House Speaker John Boehner urging him to have the House approve a no-budget, no-pay bill.

The government is operating under a continuing budget resolution for a few more days.  It still has not passed a federal budget although the federal fiscal year is half over.
