Schottenheimer returns to coaching

Former Chiefs head coach Marty Schottenheimer, who has been out of football since 2006, is back in coaching as he will run the team and front office of the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League.

Schottenheimer is 67 and with the Chiefs, he went 101-58-1 as head coach from 1989-98, leading them to the playoffs in seven those 10 seasons. He was also head coach of the Cleveland Browns (1984-88), Washington Redskins (2001) and the San Diego Chargers (2002-06). Schottenheimer’s just 5-13 in the post-season, including 3-7 in Kansas City.
