An Owensville man is accused of bilking relatives of prison inmates out of thousands of dollars by saying he could use his “connections” to get inmates paroled, or get their sentences reduced. A federal indictment says Scott Lansford told victims he had connections to the governor, to judge, and to state law enforcement officials. The federal prosecutor says he also claimed to be a former FBI agent and presidential bodyguard.
