The Cardinals scored 10 runs in the sixth inning, all with two outs, to beat the Boston Red Sox 10-3. Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday accounted for half of the team’s RBIs.

After the first two batters were retired, Pujols walked and Holliday doubled him home, ending Dice-K’s day who matched Cardinal starter Kyle McClellan with five shutout innings. Andrew Miller gave up two walks and four singles before he was replaced by Scott Atchison who walked the bases loaded and then gave up a bases clearing double to Pujols and Holliday had his second double of the inning to cap the scoring.

McClellan has now allowed just one run in 17 innings as he ERA dropped to 0.53 as he looks like he has all but wrapped up the fifth and final spot in the Cardinals rotation.
