Cardinals rough up Nationals

March 19, 2011 By Bill Pollock

The Cardinals roughed up Washington starter Jordan Zimmerman in four innings by scoring six runs in a 10-4 Cardinals win. Jaime Garcia also pitched four innings, but allowed two runs on five hits. His ERA is above eight this spring.

Garcia helped himself out at the plate going 1 for 2 and driving in two runs. Danny Descalso had two hits and two RBIs. Matt Carpenter and Allen Craig also had two hits.

The Cardinals have a pair of games on Saturday, one at home and one on the road. Kyle Lohse will look to continue an exceptional spring when he takes the hill for the Redbirds at home against Florida
