World’s largest food store facility in Bridgeton for sale

March 11, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

The world’s largest food store equipment manufacturing facility reportedly is for sale. The Reuters News Service reports Bridgeton-based Hussman is for sale. It’s now owned by Ingersoll-Rand, based in Ireland. The price is something under $1 billion dollars, more than one-half billion dollars less than Ingersoll Rand paid for it 11 years ago.

Hussman was founded in St. Louis 105 years ago.
