Seymour shooter claimed he was Jesus

March 10, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

Webster County authorities say a man shot his mother, then tried to shoot his father after they refused to call him Jesus, reincarnated. Zakariah Evitt from Seymour was a decorated Army veteran who led deputies on a manhunt Tuesday. Authorities say he locked his parents out of their house, then shot his mother. Her injuries weren’t life threatening. Evitt’s father says his son hadn’t slept for six days before the shooting.
