A Lee’s Summit wine bar has won a $630,000 damage suit against an Independence bank. The wine bar is now out of business. A jury has told Hawthorn Bank to pay the owner and his sister. The lawsuit was filed after the bank refused to finance a half-million dollar loan that had been agreed to by a loan officer. The bank is considering an appeal.
