A circuit judge has ordered a Kansas City funeral home to close a week from Friday. The judge says continued operations of  Marts Memorial Services would create a risk to the public interest.

State regulators say the funeral home is unable to account for thousands of dollars in pre-need funeral payments, stored as many as eight bodies for as much as three weeks in a cooling room that was too warm, sometimes had trouble determining where bodies were, and once gave a man the wrong ashes and claimed they were those of his wife.
