A Kansas City chemist caught with about six ounces of potassium cyanide under his sink has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison. Authorities say Hessam Ghane is suspected of sending a letter with harmless white powder labeled “cyanide” to the judge in his case. He claimed he kept the real stuff under his sink so he could commit suicide if his life became unbearable.
