The St. Louis Blues put the brakes on a three game slide in a big way as they shut out the Oilers last night in Edmonton, 5-0.  Blues goalie Ben Bishop picked up his first career shut out stopping all 39 shots he faced.

Bishop, who was called up earlier this month from Peoria, was in net for St. Louis because starting goalie Jaroslav Halak missed another game to injury.  Halak has missed five games due to an injured hand.

The Blues scoring attack was once again led by one of their new additions, Chris Stewart.  He would score two goals, giving him six in his first five games with a Note on his chest, which is a franchise record.

St. Louis would also get ngoals from Patrik Berglund, Roman Polak and Matt D’ Agostini.

The win keeps St. Louis at the number 13 spot in the Western Conference, five points behind Chicago.

The Blues continue their road trip tomorrow as they will be in Calgary for a game against the Flames.  St. Louis Blues game time is 7:00.
