Former SE Mo. lawyer gets seven years for stealing

Former southeast Missouri lawyer Joe Buerkle gets seven years in prison for stealing $325,000 from a client’s trust fund in Cape Girardeau. Buerkle was hoping for probation, saying he hoped to get a job and pay back the trust fund. But the judge who sentenced him calls his behavior “reprehensible.”
