Officials at the John Cochran Veterans’ Medical Center in St. Louis say the place is safe although it’s dealing with a second instance of unclean surgical equipment in the last year.
About 70 surgical operations have been cancelled since the discovery of some food stains on surgical trays two weeks ago. Hospital director Rima Nelson says patient volume at the center has not been affected.
