The Central Missouri wrestling squad dropped its second consecutive dual meet at home losing to Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville 21-15 on senior recognition night. This was the first win by SIU-E since 1997.

The only Mules to score points in the match were the four seniors who were honored prior to the start of the dual. Cody Gillenwater (Maryville, Mo.) and Marcus Walker (Kansas City, Kansas) each won 4-0 decisions.

Sean Claire (Richmond, Mo.) stepped up to 197 pounds to take a win by forfeit, his second straight win and first career dual victory. No. 8 ranked heavyweight Brandon Hayes (Camdenton, Mo.) earned his 10th dual victory of the season, a 4-1 decision.

UCM will regroup with its sights set on the MIAA duals in Omaha, Neb. this Sunday, February 13, starting at 10 a.m. The Mules will battle with some of the elite teams in NCAA Division-II as they take on No. 1 Nebraska-Omaha, No. 19 Fort Hays State, and Truman State.
