Two Missouri teenagers are being honored by the nation’s largest awards program that recognizes volunteer service. Alexander Kehn of Fenton and Jacob Mozer of Blue Springs will get $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC. Jacob helped his family raise a half million dollars during the last seven years by selling lemonade at stands throughout the Kansas City metro area. The money has gone for research on childhood cancers. Alexander started a community drive to provide 25,000 new and used pieces of soccer equipment for under privileged children.

The Spirit of Community Awards are sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals and an insurance company.
