Chiefs find their new O.C.

February 4, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Chiefs head coach Todd Haley wanted to find continuity within his coaching staff and that’s why he went with 68 year old offensive line coach Bill Muir as the new offensive coordinator.

Muir has never called plays on the offensive side of the ball, but was the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers most of last decade, but head coach Jon Gruden called the plays. That appears to be the case again as Haley will call the offensive plays.

Haley said, “The key thing here is that we get it right, and I feel like we got it right with Bill Muir.”

Muir was also a defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts in a coaching career that has spanned 34 years.
