January 28, 2011 By admin

The man who led the pep band at Kansas City Chiefs games for more than four decades has died at the age of 98. When Tony DiPardo began leading the T-D Pack Band, the Chiefs were still playing in the old Municipal Stadium. That was 1963. He stepped aside for a few years in the early 80s but returned when his daughter became the band director in’ 89.

DiPardo was born in St. Louis and started playing the cornet when he was nine.
