Her name was Alice Eldridge in the movies and she fell off a lot of horses and did other risky stuff … she was Lucille Ball’s stand-in for 40 movies and did 28 westerns with William Boyd, who played Hopalong Cassidy.  

Her real name was Alice Broderick, whose 68-movie career ended after she and her husband moved to St. Louis when his family won a wire-rope contract for the Navy during World War Two.

Broderick has died in a Chesterfield nursing home. She was 94.
