House Speaker Steven Tilley has created two new special committees; one dealing with disabilities, the other with clean energy.

Rep. Jeff Grisamore (R-Lee’s Summit) will chair the Special House Committee on Disabilities Services. Grisamore says the committee will review the Department of Mental Health’s proposal to expand mental health First Aid in Missouri. He says the committee will review bills on a wide range of subjects, from mental illness to developmental disabilities.

Kansas City Representative Jason Holsman, a Democrat, will chair the House Renewable Energy Special Committee, which he says has three priorities: improve energy use at the Capitol, implement the voter-approved Proposition C renewable energy initiative, and assist residential, commercial and industrial electric users to generate electricity on site.
