MU’s Brown scores 30 in loss to K-State

January 20, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Missouri senior RaeShara Brown scored 33 points, but the rest of her team managed to score just 30 as the K-State Wildcats held on to beat Mizzou 66-63 in Manhattan, KS. Brown shot 12-of-19 from the field to score her 33 points, Mizzou’s first 30-point outing since EeTisha Riddle scored 31 against Wyoming during the 2006-07 season. Brown also had four assists and four steals.

K-State was up 43-42, when Brown scored on a reverse layup to give the Tigers their first lead of the second half, 44-43, with just under 10 minutes. K-State went on a 13-3 run to lead 56-47 with just under two minutes left in the game. Two free throws from Kelsey Hill gave the Wildcats an eight-point lead, 59-51, with 59 seconds left. Brown sank a halfcourt shot as time expired for the 66-63 final score.

Mizzou 9-9, 1-3 in Big 12 play under first year coach Robin Pingeten.
