January 14, 2011 By [email protected]

Missouri’s candidate for Republican National Chairman, Ann Wagner, has come in last in the first round of balloting for RNC chair.  Wagner, a former state GOP chairman, received 23 votes.

Wisconsin Republican Chairman Reince Priebus led the balloting with 45 votes, one more than incumbent Michael Steele.  Marina Sino, a party official during the Bush administration, was third with 32 and Michigan committeeman Saul Anuzis had 24.

The winner needs 85 of the 168 vots.   The national committee is meeting in Washington, D.C.
