Funeral services have been announced for St. 1st Class Robert Wayne Pharris, a Missouri National Guardsman who was killed in action.

The Honorable Transfer of Remains — the arrival of Pharris’ body — is set for Friday, Jan. 14, at 10:15 a.m. at the Missouri National Guard Aviation Classification and Repair Activity Depot, 2501 N. Lester Jones Ave., in Springfield.

Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Seymour Church of the Nazarene, 354 N. Main St., Seymour, Mo.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2:30 p.m., also at the Seymour Church of the Nazarene.

Pharris, 48, of Seymour, died Jan. 5, from wounds suffered at Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.

He was an agriculture specialist with Missouri Agri-Business Development Team IV.
