Kennet bank robber passes clerk illegible note, flees on bike to house three blocks away

January 12, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

A Kennett man who used a bicycle as a getaway vehicle has been convicted of robbing a bank in Cardwell in 2009.

It took a jury less than a half hour to convict Samuel Bolthouse, who gave tellers a note they couldn’t read, then grabbed some bills off a teller’s counter and took off. He was caught about three blocks fromt the bank. A customer had followed him to the house where he was arrested.
