SCOMO to Clay: No

January 6, 2011 By [email protected]

The state supreme court has rejected the latest appeal from prison inmate Richard Clay, who is due to be executed early next Wednesday morning.

Clay still has federal appeals he can make.

He’s to die for being part of a contract killing in southeast Missouri. Clay was convicted in the shooting death of Randy Martindate in New Madrid County after being hired by his estranged wife — Stacy Martindale — who served 15 years for her part in the crime.
