Chiefs briefs–Bowe sick, Curtis signed

January 5, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and offensive guard Brian Waters were not at practice today as the team gets ready for their playoff game with Baltimore on Sunday. Head coach Todd Haley said they were both ill. The Chiefs also signed free agent wide receiver Kevin Curtis who last played with Miami. He was a third round draft pick of the Rams in 2003.

Curtis saw action in two games with Miami in 2010, recording one reception for six yards. He has played in 81 career games (36 starts) with Miami (2010), Philadelphia (2007-09) and St. Louis (2003-06), catching 253 passes for 3,297 yards (13.0 avg.) with 20 TDs and rushing nine times for 39 yards. He has also started five postseason contests, producing 23 catches for 446 yards (19.4 avg.) with a TD.
