Evangelist Larry Rice: Cape Girardeau ‘prejudiced against homeless’

December 30, 2010 By Jessica Machetta

Evangelist Larry Rice is ending his effort to turn the former federal courthouse in Cape Girardeau into a homeless shelter. But he’s not going quietly after losing his latest court fight to get the building. Rice says city leaders are prejudiced against the homeless.

Rice runs a New Life Homeless Outreach Center in Cape Girardeau. He wanted the courthouse so he could expand services. Cape Giradeau wants the building as a local courts building.
